FOR PATIENTS, FAMILIES, AND CAREGIVERS: We can assist you in understanding the effects of injury and illnesses, such as Alzheimer's dementia, on a person's ability to live independently and make legal decisions, including writing wills or giving gifts.
FOR ATTORNEYS: We can provide objective competency assessments regarding ability to make legal decisions. We can also provide forensic assessment of personal injury claims.
Specific assistance includes:
Providing an objective assessment of fiduciary competency, testamentary capacity and need for conservatorship.
Completing the capacity declaration form for court.
Diagnosis and confirmation of brain-based impairment in cognitive function or behavior, including assessment of exaggerating/malingering of deficits.
Providing expert witness testimony.
